LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Tony Stewart Runs 5.219/276.52, Now #1
Weather conditions: air temperature 62 degrees, relative humidity 12 percent, barometer 30.26 inches, adjusted altitude 2,273 feet.
Stewart is making is debut in Top Alcohol dragster, he is driving the McPhillips family car. He launched hard and kept it hooked up all the way down the 1320 with a great pass.
Tony Stewart's incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.386, 660ft-3.476/228.07 mph, 1,000ft-4.408.
Left Lane: Mike Burns Runs 5.451/269.56, Now #2
Right Lane: Mike Austin Runs 12.016/85.79, Now #3
Burns is straight down the groove with a good clean pass. Mike Burns' incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.500, 660ft-3.650/218.34 mph, 1,000ft-4.621.
Austin with tire shake and clicks it off.

Parker kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Kim Parker's incremental times: 60ft-0.917 sec., 330ft-2.345, 660ft-3.441/227.31 mph, 1,000ft-4.382.
Demke with severe tire shake and is out of the groove over by the centerline before he clicks it off.

These two were side-by-side all the way down the track
Green kept it hooked up all the way down the track to go to the number three spot. Hunter Green's incremental times: 60ft-0.939 sec., 330ft-2.424, 660ft-3.548/222.99 mph, 1,000ft-4.495.
Ahten was right there with him to the number four spot. Johnny Ahten's incremental times: 60ft-0.939 sec., 330ft-2.456, 660ft-3.597/219.33 mph, 1,000ft-4.557.

This is a good looking drag race.
