MADISON, Ill. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 11th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 30.27 inches, adjusted altitude 1,128 feet.

Both cars with the screw blower...

This is the first time Rivenbark and Shelton have faced each other in eliminations.

Shelton with a great light, but then with tire shake right at the hit and he clicked it off.

Rivenbark is straight down the groove for the win.

Castellana is 5 - 2 against alBalooshi in prior events.

Both cars with the roots style blower.

alBalooshi with a tick advantage on the tree. He starts to get loose and is out of the groove over by the wall. The car keeps drifting over by the wall, he reels it back in the groove. He takes the win light, but the car gets real loose and is side ways before it slams into his wall after the finish line. He is out of the car, the report is he is ok.

Castellana is out of the groove early and out of the throttle.

Jackson is 2 - 0 against Barnett in prior events.

Jackson with a screw blower and Barnett has the turbo car.

Barnett is a few ticks too quick on the tree and turns on the red light.

Jackson is straight down the groove with the quickest pass of race day for the win.

Pharris driving Jose Gonzalez's car this weekend. He qualified number one for the first time in his career. He is straight down the groove with the second quickest pass of race day.

This is the first time Winters and Thielen have faced each other in eliminations.

Thielen goes red to give Winters the win. Winters is straight down the groove for the win. He will give up lane choice to Jackson in the next round.

Smith with the nitrous car and Thorne with the pro charger car. This is number one and two in the points facing off here.

Thorne has 45 point lead coming into the round.

Thorne with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. He will give up lane choice to Pharris in the next round.

Smith started to lose traction around 200 feet and clicked it off.
