By Dave Rowe

MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 11th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 7.113/186.82, Now #14; No Prior Run

1:52 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 71 degrees, relative humidity 34 percent, barometer 30.14 inches, adjusted altitude 1,209 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

This is Herrera's first pass this weekend. He makes a clean pass and gets in the show in the 14th spot.

Left Lane: Malcolm Phillips Jr. Runs 9.557/95.59, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 11.443/67.84, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.917/172.32, Was #12

Phillips gets about 100 feet out, sounds like the bike did not go into the next gear, and he coasted the rest of the way. Evaristo had problems and was out of power early.

Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.842/198.29, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.020/195.65, Was #13
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.891/195.76, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.906/195.17, Was #11

Oehler was trailing smoke from the exhaust all the way through the run. He improves and moves up to the ninth spot. Stoffer makes a clean, straight pass but drops a spot in the order as Oehler goes around her.

Oehler left some oil on the track and we will be down for a few minutes.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 6.827/197.88, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.865/196.93, Was #10
Right Lane: Ron Tornow Runs 6.872/191.97, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.886/193.29, Was #11

2:18 p.m. and we are back to racing.

Clontz goes down the groove with a good pass, a career best EWT and speed for her, and she moves up to the eighth spot. Tornow makes a good pass but stays in the 11th spot.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.843/195.96, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.791/197.42, Was #6
Right Lane: Steve Johnson No Time, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.835/198.20, Was #9

Johnson hits the throttle, the rear tire breaks loose, he makes a move to the left and has to back off of the throttle.

Savoie makes a clean pass but slows from his attempt yesterday.

Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 7.074/194.88, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.785/198.82, Was #5
Right Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 6.777/198.67, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.792/199.32, Was #7
