MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 20th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.750/203.55, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.617/125.54, Was #24
Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.731/204.76, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.077/160.48, Was #23

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 29.65 inches, adjusted altitude 1,777 feet, track temperature 90 degrees.

This was a good looking drag race here and both of them get into the show and that will bump out WJ and Watson.

Right Lane: Bill Shorts Runs 6.981/197.74, Now #24; Best prior run: 7.010/184.25, Was #24

These two with their best passes of this event, but will not move up the ladder.

Left Lane: Fernando Cuadra Runs 6.795/201.97, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.803/202.12, Was #21
Right Lane: Dave Northrop Runs 6.804/202.30, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.811/202.52, Was #22

Cuadra with a nice pass, but comes up short.

Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.765/203.31, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.799/203.49, Was #21
Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.751/203.61, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.797/203.12, Was #20

This was a good looking pass by both drivers. Both with sub-one second 60-foot times and they both get into the show and that will bump out Yates and Kurt Johnson.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.782/203.46, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.774/205.32, Was #16
Right Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.774/202.94, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.783/201.91, Was #20

No help here for Coughlin, but hold on to the bump spot because his speed was faster than Watson's as they both ran identical E.T. s.

Left Lane: Mark Whisnant Runs 6.760/203.58, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.759/204.20, Was #14
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.774/203.52, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.783/203.34, Was #20

No help for Whisnant, and Warren runs the same E.T. as Jeggie, but a slower mph, so Jeg will hold onto the bubble.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.741/204.01, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.754/204.48, Was #13
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 12.509/69.48, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.780/204.32, Was #20

Johnson did a big wheel stand, appears that he broke a wheelie bar. Smith moves up the ladder with this pass.

Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.774/202.82, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.778/202.73, Was #19

Yates becomes the fourth driver to run 6.774 and he doesn't run fast enough to bump in front of Jeg.

Right Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.761/204.05, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.751/203.92, Was #12

Line with a good looking pass to move up the ladder.

Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.730/204.42, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.734/204.08, Was #8

Both drivers improve here.

Morgan with a great 0.975 60-foot time and he will stay number two as Edwards goes to the number one spot.

Koretsky with a great looking pass to take the number one spot back with the first 6.60 pass here at Maple Grove and the track record.
