POMONA, Calif. - Looking to end his season on a good note, Robert Hight powered to the top in
Funny Car on Saturday, qualifying No. 1 at the final race of the season, the Auto Club NHRA Finals at
Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
Mike Salinas (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Karen Stoffer (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also
qualified No. 1 at the final race of the Countdown to the Championship and the 2021 NHRA Camping
World Drag Racing Series season. World championships will be decided in all four classes on Sunday.
Funny Car No. 1 qualifier Robert Hight drove his Auto Club Chevrolet Camaro SS to a 3.886 second pass
at 329.34 mph.
Hight picked up his third No. 1 qualifier in 2021 and 71st in his career, improving on his run from
Friday.
Top Fuel No. 1 qualifier Mike Salinas drove his Scrappers Racing Top Fuel dragster to a 3.676 second
pass at 330.23 mph.
Salinas improved on his time from Friday, closing out qualifying with a strong run and earning his
second No. 1 qualifier this season and eighth in his career.
Pro Stock No. 1 qualifier Greg Anderson drove his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro to a 6.558 second
pass at 209.85 mph.
Pro Stock's Anderson raced to the No. 1 spot for the 12th time this season and 118th time in his
career as the points leader tries for his fifth world championship.
Pro Stock Motorcycle No. 1 qualifier Karen Stoffer rode her Ray Skillman Auto Group/Big St. Charles
Suzuki to a 6.751 second pass at 199.11 mph.
During the final qualifying session, Stoffer picked up her first No. 1 qualifier this season and the
fifth in her career.
