POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 56th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Cameron Ferre Runs 3.803/312.28, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.880/299.66, Was #13
Right Lane: Steven Chrisman Runs 4.106/257.83, Now #15; Best prior run: 4.736/166.81, Was #17

Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 18 percent, barometer 30.01 inches, adjusted altitude 3,011 feet, track temperature 93 degrees.

Ferre is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He will stay in the number 13 spot. Cameron Ferre's incremental times: 60ft-0.838 sec., 330ft-2.145, 660ft-3.044/283.19 mph.

Chrisman is straight down the groove to get in the show. That bumped out Force.

Left Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.734/323.81, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.770/324.67, Was #12
Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.784/328.30, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.446/172.87, Was #17

Hart launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to move into the top half of the show. Josh Hart's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.125, 660ft-2.996/289.76 mph.

Force with a good clean pass to get back into the show at the number 13 spot. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.154, 660ft-3.046/286.50 mph.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 3.937/245.05, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.759/324.83, Was #10

Laughlin started to drop cylinders on the top end and it pushed the car over by the wall before he lifted.

Left Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.733/324.28, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.756/321.12, Was #9
Right Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 8.800/70.95, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.765/320.97, Was #12

Millican kept it hitting on all eight all the way down the track to move into the top half of the show. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.819 sec., 330ft-2.105, 660ft-2.990/286.68 mph.

Ashley starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.746/320.97, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.747/324.05, Was #7
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.757/302.08, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.759/321.65, Was #11

This was the quickest passes of the weekend for the Kalitta teammates.

Langdon is straight down the groove, he will stay in the number seven spot. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.837 sec., 330ft-2.130, 660ft-3.004/289.69 mph.

Kalitta kept it hooked up and he moves up the ladder one spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.835 sec., 330ft-2.121, 660ft-2.994/287.05 mph.

These two could race in round one in round one Sunday.

Left Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 3.817/263.15, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.713/330.47, Was #3
Right Lane: Tripp Tatum Runs 3.750/323.97, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.752/306.67, Was #9

Torrence with a good clean pass, but will not improve.

Tatum with a great pass, his quickest pass of the weekend. He will move up into the top half of the show. Tripp Tatum's incremental times: 60ft-0.833 sec., 330ft-2.133, 660ft-3.008/287.47 mph.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.732/325.14, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.698/317.05, Was #2
Right Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 3.706/327.59, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.751/324.83, Was #9

This was a great side-by-side drag race.

Torrence with another good looking pass the second of the session. He will stay in the number two spot. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.830 sec., 330ft-2.123, 660ft-2.992/289.57 mph.

Pruett launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to make her quickest pass of the session. She goes to the number three spot. Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.107, 660ft-2.969/290.63 mph.

Left Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 3.676/330.23, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.694/328.78, Was #1
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.761/325.30, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.719/329.26, Was #5

Salinas launched hard and kept the candles lit all the way down the track. He makes the quickest pass of the weekend and will hold on for the number one spot. He qualifies number one for the second time this season and the eighth time in his career. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.830 sec., 330ft-2.090, 660ft-2.949/293.92 mph.

Brown with another good pass, he will not improve and will start Sunday from the number five spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.140, 660ft-3.020/288.03 mph.
