CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 13th annual DeWalt NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Paul Daigrepont Runs 6.023/236.09, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.971/240.64, Was #17
Right Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 5.803/248.52, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.056/243.33, Was #18

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 30.04 inches, adjusted altitude 3,163 feet.

No help here Daigrepont and he will not get in the show.

Scruggs launched hard and kept it hooked up and makes his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number four spot. Jason Scruggs' incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.558, 660ft-3.818/196.67 mph, 1,000ft-4.896.

Left Lane: Jerico Balduf Runs 6.005/202.48, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.884/244.43, Was #14
Right Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 7.782/117.33, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.967/243.81, Was #16

Balduf started to lose traction and clicked it off early.

alBalooshi makes a move toward the centerline and gets rel close and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Dwayne Wolfe Runs 5.850/247.43, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.871/247.25, Was #13
Right Lane: Mike Salinas Runs 5.856/245.90, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.919/242.50, Was #15

These two were side-by-side all the way down the 1320.

Wolfe with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder a couple spots. Dwayne Wolfe's incremental times: 60ft-0.956 sec., 330ft-2.577, 660ft-3.854/194.97 mph, 1,000ft-4.939.

Salinas with his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number 12 spot. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.575, 660ft-3.850/195.96 mph, 1,000ft-4.939.

He used up an engine in the process as there is oil in his lane. Mike Salinas was charged with an oildown, #1 for the season. That will cost 5 points.

Right Lane: JR Gray Runs 8.943/102.05, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.819/247.47, Was #8

Castellana is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to move into the top half of the field. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.963 sec., 330ft-2.551, 660ft-3.815/199.29 mph, 1,000ft-4.898.

Gray shook and clicked it off.

Snider with a good looking pass, his quickest of the weekend. He will stay in the number 10 spot. Brandon Snider's incremental times: 60ft-0.971 sec., 330ft-2.563, 660ft-3.832/195.96 mph, 1,000ft-4.914.

Jackson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number four spot. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.963 sec., 330ft-2.565, 660ft-3.823/197.16 mph, 1,000ft-4.898.

Left Lane: Jose Gonzalez Runs 5.786/247.93, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.811/246.26, Was #7

This is a great side-by-side drag race.

Gonzalez kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Jose Gonzalez's incremental times: 60ft-0.949 sec., 330ft-2.540, 660ft-3.802/196.82 mph, 1,000ft-4.879.

Smith was straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number three spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.594, 660ft-3.837/200.00 mph, 1,000ft-4.896.

Left Lane: Chad Green Runs 7.438/130.72, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.811/251.11, Was #7

Green shook early and clicked it off.

Latino was shut off after the burnout.

Barker launched hard and was straight down the groove to the number two spot. He makes his quickest pass of the weekend. Jeffery Barker's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.573, 660ft-3.821/208.17 mph, 1,000ft-4.885.

Bond starts to lose traction around half track and clicks it off.
