CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 13th annual DeWalt NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Jim Campbell Runs 4.053/313.80, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.397/215.86, Was #13

3:09 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 30.06 inches, adjusted altitude 3,112 feet.

Campbell drifts a little to the right but makes a full pass. he improves and moves up to the tenth spot.

Left Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 3.930/328.70, Now #9; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Dave Richards Runs 4.686/179.90, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.142/300.73, Was #12

Tasca was not able to make a pass yesterday after he put the car in neutral and could not get it back in gear. No problems on this pass, right down the groove with a good pass to get in the show in the ninth spot.

Richards gets about 700 feet out and the car nosed over, not sure why.

Left Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 6.437/99.58, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.027/110.68, Was #15
Right Lane: Tony Jurado Runs 6.097/113.38, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.099/274.44, Was #12

Alexander gets about 200 feet out, loses traction, and he has to give up on the run. Much the same for jurado, getting about 200 feet out and he breaks the slicks loose.

Left Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 4.190/287.17, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.347/259.06, Was #14
Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 8.962/83.61, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.922/326.16, Was #8

Capps hits the throttle and goes up in smoke.

Haddock was on a decent pass but lost a cylinder late in the run. He improves but not enough to move up in the order.

Left Lane: Mike McIntire Runs 5.428/131.65, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.026/283.97, Was #10
Right Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 4.021/316.38, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.914/323.12, Was #7

McIntire loses traction early and gives up on the run.

Wilkerson goes down the groove with a clean, straight pass but he doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 4.045/279.61, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.907/328.62, Was #6
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 3.978/320.74, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.879/323.58, Was #3

Pedregon goes down the groove with a good run for the conditions but he doesn't improve. DeJoria was on a decent pass but was off the throttle a little early, not sure why.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.988/321.27, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.899/326.08, Was #5
Right Lane: Robert Hight Runs 6.264/106.88, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.878/330.07, Was #2

Todd makes a clean, straight pass but doesn't improve.

Hight gets about 200 feet out, breaks the tires loose and clicks it off

Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 3.917/328.22, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.891/330.55, Was #4
Right Lane: John Force Runs 6.648/94.87, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.860/332.18, Was #1

Force rattled the tires early in the run and clicked it off.

Hagan goes right down the groove with a good pass but he doesn't improve.
