BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 67th annual Dodge//SRT NHRA U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mick Steele Runs 5.489/256.45, Now #11; No Prior Run
Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 48 percent, barometer 30.07 inches, adjusted altitude 2,400 feet.
Steele didn't make a pass in the earlier session. He is is straight down the groove with a good clean pass. Mick Steele's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.511, 660ft-3.646/218.41 mph, 1,000ft-4.626.
Left Lane: Duane Shields Runs 5.404/275.00, Now #10; Best prior run: 12.848/96.92, Was #20
Right Lane: Aaron Cooper Runs 5.747/231.71, Now #16; Best prior run: 20.396/35.35, Was #21
Shields was straight down the groove with a good looking pass, big top end speed. Duane Shields' incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.515, 660ft-3.643/223.21 mph, 1,000ft-4.591.
Cooper started to lose traction on the top end and clicks it off early. He gets in the show.

Severance starts to rattle the tires and pedals it. He make a move in the right direction, but doesn't get in the show.
