Capps is 21 - 19 against Johnson Jr. in prior events and Capps is 3 - 2 against Johnson Jr. in prior final rounds.

Capps brought out a back up car after his explosion in the semifinal.

Capps with the starting line advantage, Johnson Jr. had the lead by 330 feet and never trails from there on for the win in a close one. Tommy Johnson Jr.'s MOV: 0.0034 seconds (approximately 19 inches).

Johnson Jr. wins his third Wally this year and the 22nd in his career and 20th in Funny Car.
