BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 33rd annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Karl Brounkowski No Time, Now #2
Right Lane: David Sheetz No Time, Now #1
Both drivers left before the tree was activated and neither driver will get a time.
Left Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 5.416/273.39, Now #1
Right Lane: Buddy Domingue Runs 5.523/260.71, Now #2
Massey launched hard and kept it hooked to make his fastest pass of the season. Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.977 sec., 330ft-2.504, 660ft-3.645/219.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.598.
Domingue is straight down the groove with a clean pass. Buddy Domingue's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.512, 660ft-3.670/214.18 mph, 1,000ft-4.667.
Left Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 5.615/202.39, Now #4
Right Lane: Aaron Cooper Runs 5.311/271.84, Now #1
Cummings was on a good pass, but clicked it off early.
Cooper was straight down the groove with a great looking pass to go to the number one spot. Aaron Cooper's incremental times: 60ft-0.921 sec., 330ft-2.406, 660ft-3.532/221.89 mph, 1,000ft-4.491.
Left Lane: James Stevens Runs 17.998/115.29, Now #6
Right Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.255/276.41, Now #1
Stevens starts to shake early and clicked it off.
Fricke was straight down the groove with a great pass...Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.430, 660ft-3.525/230.33 mph, 1,000ft-4.452.
Left Lane: Duane Shields Runs 5.284/277.15, Now #2
Right Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 10.712/64.23, Now #7
Shields kept it hooked up to go straight down the groove. Duane Shields' incremental times: 60ft-0.932 sec., 330ft-2.427, 660ft-3.541/221.13 mph, 1,000ft-4.477.
Nataas started to lose traction and clicked it off
Left Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 5.349/239.61, Now #4
Right Lane: Megan Meyer Runs 7.575/113.60, Now #8
Cowie was on a great pass, but started to lose traction on the top end and clicked it off.
Meyer shook early and clicked it off.
