CLERMONT, Ind. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the 47th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals:

1:16PM Epler went up in smoke at about the 100-foot mark. He stayed on the throttle through the 330-foot timing cones, but the tires wouldn't hook up. The temperature on the track surface is over 120 degrees, so some smoking tires is to be expected.

Densham over powered the track at 300 feet and clicked it off.

Capps has had Sarver's number this season, winning all three of their previous elimination pairings. He gets the win light again, this time with the help of a hole shot. Margin of victory = 0.013 seconds (approximately 6 feet).

Worsham was running quicker than Bazemore until just before half track. Worsham's car got loose, the rear end wiggling around and he had to shut it off. Semi-final pairings will be Bazemore with lane choice over Capps and Tony Pedregon with lane choice over his brother Frank.
