ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, South Central Division, Keurig Dr. Pepper Lone Star Nationals presented by Driven Automotive Protection listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Terry Schmidt Runs 5.425/248.20, Now #1
Right Lane: Brandon Greco Runs 5.454/267.80, Now #2
Weather conditions: air temperature 91 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 29.78 inches, adjusted altitude 2,581 feet.
Schmidt is straight down the groove with his career quickest pass.
Greco is driving Chris Demke's car this weekend. He starts the weekend with a nice pass.
Left Lane: Buddy Domingue Runs 5.399/254.33, Now #2
Right Lane: Mike Burns Runs 5.340/271.95, Now #1
This was a good looking side-by-side drag race.
Domingue with a good clean pass to start the weekend.
Burns goes the the number one spot with a nice pass.
Left Lane: James Stevens Runs 5.451/258.37, Now #4
Right Lane: Brandon Pierce Runs 5.552/247.57, Now #6
Stevens starts drifting toward the centerline, but he stays with it to go to the number four spot.
Pierce with a good clean pass to the number six spot.
Left Lane: Karl Brounkowski Runs 7.129/125.72, Now #8
Right Lane: Robin Samsel Runs 5.313/270.54, Now #1
Brounkowski with problems early and clicked it off.
Samsel launched hard and kept it hooked to go to the number one spot. Robin Samsel's incremental times: 60ft-0.951 sec., 330ft-2.440, 660ft-3.546/226.24 mph, 1,000ft-4.492.
Left Lane: Megan Meyer Runs 5.245/275.17, Now #1
Right Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 5.557/267.80, Now #9
Megan Meyer with a great pass as she kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one one spot. Megan Meyer's incremental times: 60ft-0.937 sec., 330ft-2.419, 660ft-3.518/228.54 mph, 1,000ft-4.446.
Massey with a clean pass, but will not get in the show.
Left Lane: Dean Dubbin Runs 6.232/139.72, Now #11
Right Lane: Rachel Meyer Runs 5.432/266.00, Now #6
Dubbin bang the blower around half track.
Meyer is straight down the groove with a good clean pass.
