CHANDLER, Ariz. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 36th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 64 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 28.93 inches, adjusted altitude 1,952 feet, track temperature 73 degrees.

Matt Hartford was runner-up here last year. This is Alex Laughlin's 85th start in Pro Stock…In the 30 years that they have matched the No. 8 and No. 9 qualifiers in round 1 at this race the No. 8 qualifier has won 15 times and so has the No. 9 qualifier.

Hartford is 5 - 1 against Laughlin in prior events.

Hartford with the starting line advantage, but Laughlin has the lead by 330 feet and never trails from there on for the win. Alex Laughlin's MOV: 0.0157 seconds (approximately 5 feet).

Laughlin with his quickest and fastest pass of the weekend for the win, Hartford also with his fastest pass of the weekend.

Greg Anderson won this race in 2003 and 2017. His first round record in Arizona is 14 - 4.

Anderson with problems when the light turns gree and McGaha with a good light and never trailed for the win. He is just off his qualifying time and makes his fastest pass of the weekend.

Jason Line has an amazing 14 - 2 record in round 1 at this race. He won here in 2012 and 2016.

Line is 12 - 6 against Kramer in prior events.

Kramer with the starting line advantage, but has severe tire shake right at the hit and pushes the clutch back in.

Line get loose on the top end and clicks it off early, but still gets the win.

Smeland was a tick too quick on the tree and turned on the red light.

Butner then uses up an engine around half track, but still gets the win.

Kenny Delco first raced here in 1987.

This is the first time Delco and Prusiensky have faced each other in eliminations.

Delco decided to swap lanes as they were getting ready to pull in the water.

Prusiensky with the starting line advantage, but has severe tire shake right at the hit and pushed in the clutch.

Delco is straight down the groove for the win. He will have lane choice over Butner in the next round.

This is the first time Stanfield and Cuadra have faced each other in eliminations.

Stanfield with the starting line advantage, but Cuadra grabs the lead by 330 feet and never trailed from there on for the win. Cuadra wins his first round in Pro Stock. He will have lane choice over Line in the next round.

Stanfield has the chutes out early.

Erica Enders won this event in 2013.

This is the first time Enders and Cuadra Jr. have faced each other in eliminations.

Cuadra Jr. with slight starting line advantage, but Enders has the difference made up by the time they go by the Christmas tree and never trailed from there on for the win. She runs low E.T. and top speed of the event for the win. She will have lane choice over McGaha in the next round.

Jeg Coughlin's three wins here are the most for any active Pro Stock driver. The top Pro Stock qualifier at this event is 32 - 3 in round 1 matches in Arizona. This is Marty Robertson's first start in Pro Stock. He is the 451st driver to qualify in Pro Stock. He is the 91st different Pro Stock driver to face Jeg in eliminations. Of those previous 90 drivers 43 have never beaten Jeg.

Coughlin with the starting line advantage and the win. He never trails for the win. For the first time this season he is not the quickest, he is the second quickest of the round and will have lane choice over Laughlin in the next round.
