LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 19th annual Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jim Maroney Runs 8.702/66.47, Now #20; Best prior run: 8.517/69.41, Was #20
Right Lane: Pat Dakin Runs 3.848/275.62, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.151/137.74, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 11 percent, barometer 27.97 inches, adjusted altitude 3,713 feet, track temperature 97 degrees.

Millican with a good looking pass, his quickest of the weekend to move up the ladder one spot. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.150, 660ft-3.029/288.64 mph.

McClenathan started to lose traction and clicked it off early.

Palmer rattled the tires right at the hit and clicked it off.

Torrence launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his quickest pass of the weekend. He goes to the number five spot. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.827 sec., 330ft-2.095, 660ft-2.961/292.52 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.725/319.45, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.751/329.67, Was #11

Kalitta kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number nine spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.116, 660ft-2.981/291.26 mph.

Crampton with another good pass, but will not improve. Richie Crampton's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.125, 660ft-2.994/290.01 mph.

Brown with a good looking pass, but will not improve, he will start Sunday from the number 11 spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.842 sec., 330ft-2.127, 660ft-3.002/289.69 mph.

McMillen matches his qualifying time with another great pass, he will stay in the number six spot. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.111, 660ft-2.973/292.90 mph.

Prock was up in smoke early and clicked it off.

Salinas with another great pass, but will not improve. He was drifting out of the groove on the top and got close to the centerline after the finish line. Mike Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.820 sec., 330ft-2.090, 660ft-2.951/292.96 mph.

Reed was up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Pritchett launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the event and set the track E.T. record. She goes to the number one spot. Leah Pritchett's incremental times: 60ft-0.836 sec., 330ft-2.087, 660ft-2.932/297.61 mph.
