LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 19th annual Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Mike Burns Runs 5.485/264.34, Now #17; Best prior run: 12.177/100.11, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 64 degrees, relative humidity 14 percent, barometer 28.11 inches, adjusted altitude 2,663 feet, track temperature 81 degrees.

Burns makes a move toward the centerline, he reels it in and makes his quickest pass of the weekend. He will not get in the show, as he goes to the number 17 spot. Mike Burns' incremental times: 60ft-0.976 sec., 330ft-2.513, 660ft-3.672/217.60 mph, 1,000ft-4.646.

Left Lane: Nicholas Childers Runs 5.881/220.37, Now #19; Best prior run: 5.940/214.83, Was #19
Right Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.283/271.24, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.485/266.48, Was #16

Childers with career quickest and fastest pass, but will not get in the show.

Fricke launched hard and kept it hooked up to get off the bump and into the top half of the show. Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.936 sec., 330ft-2.413, 660ft-3.523/225.71 mph, 1,000ft-4.465.

Left Lane: Mitch Myers Runs 5.547/261.07, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.504/266.11, Was #18
Right Lane: Ron Anderson Runs 5.679/262.69, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.462/262.85, Was #16

No help here for Myers and he will not get in the show.

Anderson will not improve, but holds on to the bump spot.

Ahten made a quick move toward the centerline, but he reeled it in to make his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number five spot. Johnny Ahten's incremental times: 60ft-0.937 sec., 330ft-2.449, 660ft-3.574/224.58 mph, 1,000ft-4.513.

Stevens is straight down the groove to make his quickest pass of the weekend. He moves up the ladder three spots to the number 11 spot. James Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.925 sec., 330ft-2.375, 660ft-3.517/216.13 mph, 1,000ft-4.497.

Salinas kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make her quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder three spots. She goes to the number 12 spot. Jasmine Salinas' incremental times: 60ft-0.941 sec., 330ft-2.416, 660ft-3.538/222.47 mph, 1,000ft-4.494.

Parker launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number four spot. Kim Parker's incremental times: 60ft-0.952 sec., 330ft-2.406, 660ft-3.489/229.55 mph, 1,000ft-4.423.

Shields with a good looking pass, straight dow the groove to the number nine spot. Duane Shields' incremental times: 60ft-0.924 sec., 330ft-2.418, 660ft-3.536/223.95 mph, 1,000ft-4.483.

Mercier loses traction early and clicks it off.

Bateman is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder two spots. Garrett Bateman's incremental times: 60ft-0.946 sec., 330ft-2.442, 660ft-3.559/225.15 mph, 1,000ft-4.500.

Conway shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

This is a great side-by-side drag race to wrap up qualifying.

Nataas was straight down the groove with it hitting on all eight to make her quickest pass of the weekend. Julie Nataas' incremental times: 60ft-0.922 sec., 330ft-2.376, 660ft-3.470/229.20 mph, 1,000ft-4.394.

Severance launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest blown car pass in the history of Top Alcohol dragster and the seventh quickest overall. He qualifies number one for the first time this season and the 15th time in his career. Joey Severance's incremental times: 60ft-0.864 sec., 330ft-2.270, 660ft-3.373/224.21 mph, 1,000ft-4.316.
