CONCORD, N.C. - Steve Torrence took over the Top Fuel points lead in the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship when he defeated Doug Kalitta at the 12th annual NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway.

Robert Hight (Funny Car), Deric Kramer (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all won in their respective categories at the third of six races in the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. It is also the 21st of 24 events during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Steve Torrence, 3.772 seconds, 323.19 mph defeated Doug Kalitta, 4.090 seconds, 274.27 mph.

Top Fuel driver Steve Torrence earned his fourth consecutive win at zMAX Dragway when he defeated Doug Kalitta in the final round of the NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals.

Robert Hight, Chevy Camaro, 3.917 seconds, 329.02 mph defeated Jack Beckman, Dodge Charger, Foul - Red Light.

Robert Hight raced to victory at zMAX Dragway and extended his Funny Car points lead in the NHRA standings.

Deric Kramer, Chevy Camaro, 6.541 seconds, 211.33 mph defeated Matt Hartford, Camaro, 6.558 seconds, 211.00 mph.

Pro Stock driver Deric Kramer snagged a win in Charlotte when he took down Matt Hartford in the final round of the NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals.

Andrew Hines, Harley-Davidson, 6.805 seconds, 199.37 mph defeated Karen Stoffer, Suzuki, 6.804 seconds, 199.20 mph.

Andrew Hines rode his Harley-Davidson Pro Stock Motorcycle to victory at zMAX Dragway to claim the NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals title.
