CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 12th annual NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jeremy Martorella Runs 6.818/201.34, Now #18; Best prior run: 23.859/29.21, Was #19
Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.33 inches, adjusted altitude 2,713 feet, track temperature 100 degrees.
Martorella is straight down the groove with his career quickest pass in only his second National event.
Left Lane: Aaron Stanfield Runs 6.609/209.95, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.626/210.11, Was #14

Cuadra Jr. with a nice pass to move into the top half of the show. Fernando Cuadra Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.751, 660ft-4.235/167.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.512.
Stroupe improves, but stays in the number 18 spot.

McGaha launched hard and kept it hooked up to move into the top half of the show. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.752, 660ft-4.229/167.12 mph, 1,000ft-5.502.
Prusiensky was drifting toward the centerline on the top end. After the finish line the chutes didn't blossom and then the car made a quick move toward the left. It darted right in font of McGaha and then slammed into the wall. There was a huge fireball and the rolled one time before coming to a stop. He was out of the car and was transported for further evaluation.

Kramer with problems right at the hit and pushed in the clutch and coasted down track.

Butner with severe tire shake right at the hit and pushed in the clutch. He didn't get a time.
