CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 12th annual NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.837/198.41, Now #3; Best prior run: 21.846/25.93, Was #15
Right Lane: Jianna Salinas Runs 7.276/187.47, Now #16; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.33 inches, adjusted altitude 2,713 feet, track temperature 100 degrees.

Salinas did not make a pass in the first round because of a broken throttle cable.

Hines had traction problems in the first round. He goes right down the groove here and moves all the way to the third spot.

Salinas makes a clean pass but is off of the pace.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.031/192.36, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.082/192.47, Was #14
Right Lane: Andie Rawlings Runs 11.724/68.94, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.214/182.26, Was #15

Clontz improves but only moves up one spot in the order. Rawlings had problems and was off of the throttle early.

Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 10.625/58.95, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.076/162.49, Was #14

Smith has problems again and is off the throttle before he reaches the 330 foot mark.

Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.897/194.74, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.969/195.79, Was #11
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.971/194.88, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.956/193.32, Was #10

Oehler goes down the groove with a good pass and moves up to the eighth spot. Smith makes a clean pass but was a little sluggish off the line.

Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.074 sec., 330ft-2.869, 660ft-4.400/160.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.745.

Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.115 sec., 330ft-2.952, 660ft-4.480/160.65 mph, 1,000ft-5.821.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.157/152.26, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.892/195.62, Was #7
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.886/197.13, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.935/196.64, Was #10

Pollacheck had problems late in the run and was sitting up on the bike about 1000 feet out. Arana improves and moves up to the sixth spot.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.860/196.50, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.872/196.70, Was #4
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.886/197.22, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.909/195.85, Was #10

Sampey was moving around a little early in the run. She improves but not enough to move up in the order. Arana makes a good pass and moves up to the sixth spot.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.865/196.39, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.818/198.47, Was #2
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.842/196.64, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.892/196.82, Was #8

Krawiec slows from his earlier attempt and stays in the second spot. Stoffer improves and moves up to the fourth spot.

Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.870, 660ft-4.383/162.20 mph, 1,000ft-5.706.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 26.123/24.67, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.801/196.85, Was #1
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.096/191.70, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.883/194.52, Was #6

Savoie has problems right at the hit and he clicks it off. Johnson has problems near the end of the run and he slows.
