CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 12th annual NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Justin Bond Runs 5.791/253.47, Now #1
Right Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 9.654/91.48, Now #4

Bond is straight down the groove, just a tick off his quickest pass this season. Justin Bond's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.609, 660ft-3.850/200.92 mph, 1,000ft-4.903.

Whiteley started to lose traction early and clicked it off.

Oksas shook early and shut off.

Wolfe lost traction early in the run and clicked it off.

King with tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Satterfield made a quick move toward the centerline and pedaled it.

Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 9.917/89.77, Now #7

Whiteley is straight down the groove with a clean pass.

Winter made a quick move toward the centerline and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Michael Biehle Runs 5.801/254.18, Now #2
Right Lane: Eric Latino Runs 9.078/94.42, Now #6

Biehle kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove.

Latino shook and shut off right at the hit.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.784/195.68, Now #5
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 5.879/251.06, Now #4

Matusek started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Laughlin is straight down the groove with a clean pass.

This was a great side-by-side drag race.

alBalooshi kept it hooked up and goes to the number one spot. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.598, 660ft-3.833/202.27 mph, 1,000ft-4.878.

Castellana is right there with him to go to the number two spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.552, 660ft-3.801/198.38 mph, 1,000ft-4.869.

Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 10.413/80.98, Now #17

Smith launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.587, 660ft-3.830/200.38 mph, 1,000ft-4.886.

Janis made a move toward the centerline and clicked it off by 330 feet.

This is a great side-by-side drag race to wrap up round one of qualifying.

Tutterow launched with the front end in the air and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Todd Tutterow's incremental times: 60ft-0.967 sec., 330ft-2.553, 660ft-3.803/199.02 mph, 1,000ft-4.867.

Jackson looking to wrap up the Pro Mod championship this weekend is straight down the groove with a nice pass. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.966 sec., 330ft-2.576, 660ft-3.819/197.48 mph, 1,000ft-4.892.
