COMMERCE, Ga. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Arby's NHRA Southern Nationals:

This is the first time Castellana and Snider have faced each other in eliminations.

Castellana with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win.

Smith with the starting line advantage, but Winters had the difference made up by the time they went by the Christmas tree and never trailed from there on for the win. Doug Winters' MOV: 0.0229 seconds (approximately 8 feet).

Green with a great light and never trailed for the win. Green's chute didn't blossom as he crossed the finish line and he is on the brakes. One chute starts to blossom, but not enough to keep him from going into the sand trap. The word from the top end is he is okay and out of the car. He will have lane choice over Winters in the next round.

Whiteley with a great light, but then has severe tire shake and clicks it off.

Janis started to drift out of the groove and got close to the centerline before he clicked it off. He still gets the win. He will give up lane choice to Tutterow in the next round.

Frigo with problems getting the car to fire, but finally does get it to fire and he does a short burnout.

Frigo with a great light and never trailed for the win. He will give up lane choice to Gonzalez in the next round.

Enders was real loose right at the hit and pedaled it, but couldn't chase him down.
