Schumacher is 18 - 16 against Torrence in prior events and Torrence is 5 - 1 against Schumacher in prior final rounds.

Torrence with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. He had the power to hold on for the hole shot win. Steve Torrence's MOV: 0.0227 seconds (approximately 11 feet).

Torrence wins his 11th Top Fuel Wally this season and he sweeps the Countdown to the Championship races. He is the first driver to win all six races. This is 27th career Top Fuel Wally.

For the first time in the history of the Finals all of the Mello Yello Champions win the Wally.
