POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 54th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Maurice Allen Runs 7.116/184.47, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.114/186.64, Was #20

12:25 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 12 percent, barometer 28.83 inches, adjusted altitude 2,670 feet, track temperature 105 degrees.

Katie Sullivan is on the bump spot at 6.978.

Allen makes a clean pass, but is slightly off of yesterday pace to stay #20.

Surber continues to struggle, as she sits up early, as the bike bogs off the line.

Vanetti doesn't improve either.

Smith leaves hard and powers right on down the track this time and just gets into the field on the bump spot.

No improvement for Camarena on a clean pass.

Two strong passes and both bikes improve from yesterday's best.

Sullivan slows a little, but Sampey finds a bunch of tuneup and jumps eight spots up the ladder to the top four for now!

Arana has good speed, but after two clean passes, neither rider will improve.

Ellis is strong down low and is able to move up a spot on a clean pass to the top eight for now.

Hines is both quicker and faster than yesterday and moves up to #10.

WOW! Smith is taking no prisoners and flies on down the track and sets both a new track and National speed record with a fantastic two hundred and one plus MPH pass!

Krawiec has strong too and saves some little points with a great pass up five positions to the number two spot.
