POMONA, Calif. - Leah Pritchett lit the candles on her Top Fuel dragster Friday evening and piloted to the top of the category for both qualifying sessions at the 54th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway.

Tommy Johnson Jr. (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also preliminary qualifiers in their respective categories at the final event of the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Current Top Fuel No. 1 qualifier Leah Pritchett drove her Mopar Dodge Top Fuel dragster to a 3.649 second pass at 329.34 mph.

Pritchett's hometown is from nearby Redland, Calif.

Current Funny Car No. 1 qualifier Tommy Johnson Jr. drove his Make-A-Wish Dodge Charger R/T to a 3.922 second pass at 327.19 mph.

Johnson has three consecutive No. 1 qualifying positions.

Current Pro Stock No. 1 qualifier Jeg Coughlin Jr. drove his Jegs.Com Chevrolet Camaro to a 6.527 second pass at 211.39 mph.

Coughlin is currently second in the points and gained seven qualifying bonus points during the two sessions.

Current Pro Stock Motorcycle No. 1 Qualifier rode his Lucas Oil/Stockseth/Elite Buell to a 6.774 second pass at 200.65 mph

Smith is the current points leader. His speed is an Auto Club Raceway at Pomona track record.
