POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 53rd annual Auto Club NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed this round, amount over/under index this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time, speed & over/under Index, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Joe Mozeris Runs 14.691/55.46/7.141, Now #9; B/ED Index: 7.55, Prior Best: 6.995/179.28/-0.555, Was #9
Right Lane: Randy Jones Runs 8.556/155.85/-0.454, Now #12; C/TA Index: 9.01, Prior Best: 11.053/81.88/2.043, Was #17

2:40 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 48 percent, barometer 28.89 inches, adjusted altitude 2,832 feet, track temperature 93 degrees.

Two struggling passes! No bump spot this weekend.

Mozeris gets the front end up and then has the dragster head for the wall. He is coasting early.

Jones gets to the finish line under power this time, but sounded to have done a quick pedal slap around the 330 lights. He still moves five spots up the ladder.

Another big wheels up leave for McClay. He runs a little quicker to stay #7.

Skillman runs better this time, but only improves one spot.

Ellis flies off the line straight and true to the finish line. He runs our first seventy plus under the index pass for the new top spot.

Greenheck finds some power too and Move up the ladder right behind Ellis into the new #2 spot.

Snyder's Sunbeam did a little wiggle about 100 feet out and he still improves his ET to stay #15.

Mandella picks up a little ET, but stays #18.

Hedlund will wrap up the session and gets a full pass this time without issues.

Thats good enough for the #10 spot for today.

Ellis stays #1 at -0.719 under and the field not filled, no bump spot.
