LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 16th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Gunner Courtney Runs 7.341/178.54, Now #1
Right Lane: Brian Bognuda Runs 7.392/178.12, Now #2

11:54 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 27.78 inches, adjusted altitude 4,173 feet, track temperature 82 degrees.

Courtney makes a clean pass to set the early pace. Bognuda makes a clean pass but was falling behind all the way through the run.

Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.126/188.02, Now #1

Kennedy had problems at the second gear change and was off the throttle early. Camarena makes a clean pass and takes the early pole.

Right Lane: John Hall Runs 7.241/183.59, Now #2

Left Lane: David Hope Runs 7.396/180.79, Now #5

Left Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 7.049/189.20, Now #1
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.193/182.62, Now #3

Gladstone makes a decent pass and takes the top spot for now. Berry makes a clean pass and gets in the third spot.

Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.127/185.84, Now #3

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.083/188.60, Now #2
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 8.910/99.88, Now #12

Pollacheck was on a decent pass but has problems a little before half track. Smith makes a decent pass and gets in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: Melissa Surber Runs 7.014/188.86, Now #1
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.108/187.83, Now #4

Surber makes a clean, straight pass and takes the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.022/191.16, Now #3
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.018/191.29, Now #2

Stoffer makes a decent pass and gets in the second spot for now. Johnson was just a little behind and gets in the third spot.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.984/191.16, Now #2
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.981/190.78, Now #1

Smith goes right down the groove with the first six second run of the weekend to move into the top spot for now. Arana gets in the sixes and gets in just behind Smith in the second spot.

Arana goes right down the groove with a good pass to take the top spot for now.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.011/191.38, Now #4
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.154/188.86, Now #14

Tonglet makes a clean pass and gets in the fourth spot for now. Ellis was falling behind all the way through the run.

Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.904/192.66, Now #1

Savoie makes an impressive pass and takes the pole for now.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.951/191.97, Now #3
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.947/192.08, Now #2

Krawiec makes a decent pass but is still well behind Savoie's pass. Hines makes a clean pass and moves into the third spot.
