Lombardo had the quicker start and the quickest ET of the event for Top Alcohol Funny Car to take the win and move on to the next round.

Cox staged the car but when he tried to launch, the car moved forward a couple of feet and then stopped. Thompson got the win and will move on to the next round.

Pomponio was first off the starting line but Bohl made up the difference before they reached 60 feet. After that, it was Bohl all the way as he pulled ahead for the win. Bohl gave up lane choice to Thompson in the next round.

Burkart was quicker at the tree and pulled away to extend his lead. He will face Bellemeur in the third round and Bellemeur will have lane choice.
