TOPEKA, Kan. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 28th annual NHRA Kansas Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Brian Stewart Runs 4.151/272.17, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.708/84.99, Was #17
Right Lane: Jack Wyatt Runs 4.243/291.63, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.346/256.31, Was #16
5:26 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 48 percent, barometer 28.90 inches, adjusted altitude 2,842 feet, track temperature 97 degrees.
Stewart was off the throttle just before the finish. Wyatt's best pass of the weekend isn't quite good enough to put him on the ladder.

6:08 p.m. A wire in the wall at the starting line had been partially chewed through, causing a problem with the staging lights. Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 28.90 inches, adjusted altitude 2,785 feet, track temperature 91 degrees.
Force pulled up to the starting line and prestaged, then the prestage light
went out. Tasca went ahead and made a pass. He got a little out of shape and he lifted.

Force stayed at the starting line and fired it up after the track crew got the staging lights working in his lane. He makes a pretty good run, banging the blow at the finish.

Pedregon lost traction just past the tree. Head makes a clean pass, his fastest of this season.
Chad Head's

Left Lane: Robert Hight Runs 4.071/247.88, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.907/332.84, Was #8
Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.895/326.79, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.908/328.38, Was #9
The candles went out on Hight's car just past the 660-foot mark. Capps makes his quickest pass of this season.

Worsham was very loose at the 330-foot mark and he had to lift. A very good pass for Wilkerson.
