COMMERCE, Ga. - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals:

Beckman is 22-22 in final rounds. He has two wins at this event, in 2009 and 2011.
Hagan is 18-18 in final rounds.
Beckman is 16 - 14 against Hagan in prior events and each has won 1 times against the other in final rounds.
Hagan gets out of the gate first and starts to pull away. Beckman hits the throttle, gets about 40 feet out and goes up in smoke. he pedals once, can't recover, then gives up on the run. Hagan gets to the end of the run and a fire erupts after he goes through the lights. The fire bottles go off and extinguish the flames as he rolls to a stop.
Matt Hagan was charged with an oildown, #2 for the season. That will cost 10 points and $2K.
