COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Brian Pretzel Runs 7.070/191.57, Now #13; No Prior Run

1:40 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.13 inches, adjusted altitude 3,161 feet, track temperature 117 degrees.

Pretzel's engine sounded like it went up on the limiter at the first shift but he makes his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show for now.

Right Lane: Lance Bonham Runs 7.256/184.65, Now #15; No Prior Run

Katie was supposed to be on the bike Kennedy is riding but she was a little under the weather and Kennedy took over for her.

Kennedy makes his first pass of the weekend and gets in the 14th spot for now. Bonham slows from his best attempt yesterday but gets in the show for now.

Right Lane: David Hope Runs 7.038/189.58, Now #13; No Prior Run

Underdahl's engine bogs after he gets it in second gear and the bike noses over. Hope makes his quickest pass of the weekend and he gets in the field for now in the 13th spot.

Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.004/189.79, Now #13; No Prior Run

Ellis makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves all the way to the second spot for now. DeSantis makes his quickest pass of the weekend and gets in the field in the 13th spot for now.

Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.929/192.25, Now #7; No Prior Run

Arana goes right down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the field in the seventh spot for now. Smith makes her first run in the sixes this weekend and gets in the field for now.

Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.936/191.73, Now #10; No Prior Run

Pollacheck goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and gets in the show in the tenth spot for now. Berry makes his quickest pass of the weekend to get in on the bump spot for now.

Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.973/190.14, Now #15; No Prior Run

Johnson makes a clean pass and gets in the show for now. Reed doesn't improve and stays in the 13th spot.

Matt Smith makes his quickest pass of the weekend and bumps out Angie Smith. Ray had problems late in the run and was out of power.

Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.939/193.65, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.950/192.47, Was #12

Savoie improves and moves up a spot to 11th. Phillips makes his quickest pass of the weekend and moves up a spot to 13th.

Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.930/193.18, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.940/192.19, Was #12

Arana improves and moves up to the eighth spot for now. Surber slows from her earlier attempt yesterday and drops a spot as Arana goes around her in the order.

Gann is a no-show.

Tonglet makes a clean pass but doesn't improve.
