COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 36th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 6.876/199.67, Now #2
Right Lane: Kenny Delco Runs 6.730/205.41, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 29.18 inches, adjusted altitude 3,048 feet, track temperature 126 degrees.

Gaydosh clicks it off early...Delco was straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.661/207.08, Now #1
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 8.859/107.22, Now #4

Gray with a good clean pass to start the weekend. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.788, 660ft-4.288/164.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.576. Gaines with tire shake and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 7.691/115.82, Now #4
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin No Time, Now #6

Laughlin started to drift out of the groove and clicked it off early. Coughlin with problems on the burnout and is pushed back to the starting line and then is shut off.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 8.304/117.56, Now #6
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.707/206.70, Now #2

Enders with good early numbers, but then pushed in the clutch early. Nobile with a good clean pass to start the weekend.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.670/207.11, Now #2
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.701/206.61, Now #3

Johnson goes in and turns on both bulbs on, before McGaha pre-stages. These two are side-by-side all the way down the track to go to numbers two and three. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.793, 660ft-4.293/164.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.583.
Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-1.004 sec., 330ft-2.805, 660ft-4.310/164.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.609.

Left Lane: Drew Skillman Runs 6.670/207.15, Now #3
Right Lane: Bo Butner Runs 6.631/209.04, Now #1

Skillman with a good looking pass and then after the finish line with the chutes out it blew the front tires and he got it stopped safely. During the top end interview skillman said that is was late with the chutes deploying and he may have got on to the brakes a little too hard. Drew Skillman's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.786, 660ft-4.285/164.05 mph, 1,000ft-5.580. Butner launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Bo Butner's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.773, 660ft-4.263/166.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.549.

Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.648/208.88, Now #3

This was a great side-by-side drag race for the number two and three spots. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.271/165.64 mph, 1,000ft-5.555.
Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.786, 660ft-4.279/166.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.566.
