Force has an 8 - 3 record against Wilkerson in prior events. This is the first time they have raced each other in a final round. Wilkerson is 2-0 in finals this season, 20-16 over his career. Force is in her first final of the season, has a career 7-7 record in final rounds. Wilkerson won this event in 2004.
They left together and were glued together all the way down the track. Wilkerson led for about 100 feet, then the Traxxas car went to the front to stay. The win qualifies her for her sponsor's Shootout in Funny Car. The win is her seventh, her first of the season and first at this event.
