12:52 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 80 degrees, relative humidity 73 percent, barometer 29.79 inches, adjusted altitude 2,531 feet, track temperature 102 degrees.

This is the first time Meyer and Brounkowski have faced each other in eliminations. This is just Meyer's third race and third is her worst qualifying position so far.

Meyer left first and drove away from Brounkowski, who made his best run of the event in a losing cause because Meyer also ran her best, just a couple thousandths slower than the #1 qualifier.

This is the first time Copeland and Massey have faced each other in eliminations. Copeland used to drive the Gene Snow dragster and Massey worked as a crew member for Copeland. Now Copeland is in Aaron Tatum's dragster and Massey is back in Gene Snow's TAD.

Massey made his best run of the event against a struggling Copeland. Copeland coasted down the track and then pulled over when the rear end locked up.

This is the first time Callaway and Sheetz have faced each other in eliminations. This is just Sheetz' sixth round of competition and he went to the finals at the Pomona Finals last year.

Sheetz had a great light, but could not run with Callaway, who made his best run of the event. However, Callaway will not have lkane choice against Meyer in the semifinals.

Cowie and Severance have each won 2 times against the other in prior events. On a huge holeshot, Severance puts Cowie in the trailer and earns lane choice against Massey in the semifinals.
