POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Auto Club NHRA Finals:

This is the third consecutive race where Jerry Savoie has been the #1 qualifier. The last time someone other than a Harley rider qualified #1 at three straight races was at the end of the 2011 season (Hector Arana Jr.).This is the 19th time that Mike Berry has qualified 16th. He is 3-15 in the first round when starting from the last spot in the field. He has given up the win to Savoie in their three first round races.
Savoie gets the starting line advantage and pulls steadily ahead for the easy win.

Eddie Krawiec has three wins at this track. This will be his 399th round of competition. Only six Pro Stock Motorcycle riders have competed in 400 or more rounds...This is the 6th time that Scotty Pollacheck has started from the 9th spot in the field. In his previous five races he was upset the higher qualified rider four times. He has over a 82% first round win advantage and has won the two prior first round match ups with Pollacheck.
Pollacheck gets a starting line advantage, but Krawiec is quickly on by. He gives up lane choice to Savoie in the next round.

Ray is off the throttle early. Hines takes the easy win.
