Weather conditions: air temperature 80 degrees, relative humidity 27 percent, barometer 27.78 inches, adjusted altitude 4,336 feet, track temperature 89 degrees.

Bateman is 1 - 0 against Fricke in prior events and this is the first time they have faced each other in a final round. Fricke with the slight starting line advantage, but then started to lose traction. Bateman launched hard and keep it hooked up and hitting on all eight to get the win. Bateman wins his first National event in fourth final rounds.
