LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 15th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Luke Crowley Runs 7.134/189.36, Now #23; No Prior Run

3:44 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 27 percent, barometer 27.91 inches, adjusted altitude 4,343 feet, track temperature 105 degrees.

Crowley makes his quickest pass of the weekend but doesn't make the field.

Right Lane: Melissa Surber No Time, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.246/185.41, Was #26

Surber was in the staging lanes but was pushed off before attempting a run, not sure why.

Left Lane: Lance Bonham Runs 7.357/185.21, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.803/184.07, Was #27
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.074/188.60, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.242/183.72, Was #25

Smith makes her quickest pass of the weekend but it isn't enough to get in the show. Bonham makes a clean pass but won't be racing tomorrow.

Left Lane: Cory Reed Runs 10.762/78.59, Now #28; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Rhett Lougheed Runs 7.588/186.82, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.215/186.74, Was #25

Not sure what was wrong with Reed's engine but it was struggling all the way through the run. Lougheed slows from his earlier attempt and does not make the show.

Left Lane: Robert Karlsson Runs 7.230/189.02, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.110/187.34, Was #22
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.325/185.28, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.112/186.36, Was #23

karlsson and Sullivan both make clean passes but neither can improve.

Left Lane: Eddie Reed No Time, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.099/187.52, Was #20
Right Lane: Kalle Lyren Runs 7.112/189.26, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.100/189.28, Was #21

Reed has problems and is shut down before he can stage. Lyren makes a decent pass but doesn't improve and won't make the field.

Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.073/191.40, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.030/191.70, Was #16
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.050/189.76, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.097/189.92, Was #19

DeSantis makes his quickest pass of the weekend but doesn't get in the field. Camarena slows and stays on the bump.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.014/191.24, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.978/191.73, Was #12
Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.078/187.94, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.081/187.65, Was #19

Gann makes a decent pass for the conditions but doesn't improve. Harris improves a little but doesn't make the show.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 7.038/193.27, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.976/192.74, Was #11
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.960/192.30, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.992/191.16, Was #15

Johnson makes his quickest pass of the weekend and gets in the top half of the field for now. Arana slows and drops a spot as Johnson goes around him.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.997/192.85, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.974/192.52, Was #11
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.024/192.60, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.982/193.49, Was #15

Arana makes a decent pass but doesn't improve. underdahl slows and will stay in the 15th spot.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 11.205/71.07, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.972/191.40, Was #9
Right Lane: Mike Berry No Time, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.981/191.02, Was #14

Berry never got the bike staged and did not receive a time. Smith had problems and was off the throttle early.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.969/191.84, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.951/192.19, Was #7
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 6.962/192.77, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.973/192.71, Was #10

ellis improves and moves up a spot in the order. Pollacheck slows and stays in the seventh spot.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.937/193.52, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.930/193.35, Was #5
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.963/193.24, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.937/193.29, Was #6

Tonglet makes the quickest pass of the round so far but he doesn't improve. Stoffer makes a decent pass but doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.922/194.27, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.929/192.93, Was #4
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.922/193.77, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.909/194.55, Was #2

Hines and Krawiec run the same time, the two quickest of the round so far, Krawiec improves slightly, Hines does not.

Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.932/192.36, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.913/193.63, Was #3
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie No Time, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.852/196.02, Was #1

Savoie's bike was out of the beam when the tree came down and he receives no time. Ray makes a good pass but doesn't improve.
