MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Steve Schmidt Runs 6.699/205.85, Now #1
Right Lane: Aaron Strong No Time, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 88 degrees, relative humidity 34 percent, barometer 29.61 inches, adjusted altitude 2,857 feet, track temperature 115 degrees.

Strong couldn't get his car to start and is pushed off. Schmidt with a good clean pass to start the weekend. Steve Schmidt's incremental times: 60ft-1.012 sec., 330ft-2.814, 660ft-4.315/163.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.608.

Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.629/210.50, Now #1

River with a clean pass to start the weekend. Laughlin was straight down the groove with good pass. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.015 sec., 330ft-2.805, 660ft-4.286/166.48 mph, 1,000ft-5.559.

Right Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.576/209.82, Now #1

Hogan with a lot of tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off. Kramer launched hard and was straight down the groove with a good looking pass to go to the number one spot. Deric Kramer's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.236/167.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.505.

Right Lane: Drew Skillman Runs 6.556/211.86, Now #3

Gray used up all his lane and still goes to the number one spot. Jonathan Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.221/167.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.484. Skillman with a real nice pass to go to the number three spot. Drew Skillman's incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.772, 660ft-4.235/168.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.494.

Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.547/211.96, Now #1

This was a great side-by-side drag race...Gray to the number four spot. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.762, 660ft-4.230/168.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.490. Line launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.754, 660ft-4.222/168.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.484.

Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.557/212.39, Now #7

Nobile now driving an Elite Motorsports car, actually the one Coughlin was driving in Indy. These two were side-by-side all the way down the track. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.227/168.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.490.
Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.233/167.86 mph, 1,000ft-5.495.

Johnson made a quick move toward the centerline, but he reeled it in to get into the top half of the show. This was a great side-by-side drag race to wrap up round one of Pro Stock as these two go to the top of the list. Anderson with a great pass to the number one spot. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.738, 660ft-4.200/168.85 mph, 1,000ft-5.456. Enders to the number two spot.
