UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Angelle Savoie, who captured her third straight National Hot Rod Association Pro Stock Bike championship, will sign autographs at Mohegan Sun on Saturday, January 4th. The sessions are open to the public, and they will run from 10-10:30am, 11-11:30am, 12-12:30am, and 1:15-2:00pm, in front of the Mohegan Sun Arena box office, where her bike is already displayed. Fans are encouraged to bring memorabilia for Savoie to sign. Mohegan Sun assumed the role of primary sponsor for Savoie’s Star Racing team during the last three events of this past NHRA season, providing financial stability at a crucial time for a team that began the year without major corporate backing. Savoie won two of those three races to sew up the NHRA POWERade championship on the Mohegan Sun Suzuki motorcycle. Mohegan Sun will return as a major associate sponsor next year. Savoie is just the second Pro Stock Bike rider to win three straight series titles, and she has already amassed 28 career victories. She led the series this season with six wins in eight final-round appearances, and was also the top qualifier seven times. Savoie also became just the second female competitor in NHRA history to win three championships, matching the legendary Shirley Muldowney. With its state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, Mohegan Sun Arena is the premier entertainment and sports venue in Connecticut. Michael Jordan and the Washington Wizards played the Boston Celtics in the 10,000-seat facility, and it has also hosted the Globetrotters and the UMass and CCSU men’s basketball teams. Additionally, there have been professional boxing, tennis and bowling events held at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribe, is one of the largest, most distinctive and spectacular entertainment, gaming, shopping and meeting destinations in the United States. Situated on 240 acres along the Thames River in scenic southeastern Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is within easy access of New York, Boston, Hartford and Providence and located 15 minutes from the museums, antique shops and waterfront of Mystic Places. What began with the Casino of the Earth in 1996 has evolved into a legendary destination that now includes: the Casino of the Sky and over 300,000 square feet of total gaming space; The Shops at Mohegan Sun, featuring more than 40 retail shops and dining venues ranging from food court-style to gourmet; the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena for world-class sporting events and concerts, and an intimate Cabaret; and a 34-story luxury hotel, featuring 1,200 guestrooms and suites, premier meeting and convention space and a world-class spa.
