This is the first time Lindberg and Bogolo have faced each other in eliminations. This was only the 3rd time that the #16 qualifier in Top Alcohol Funny Car beat the top qualifier in round one at Indy. It happened in 1990 when Jody Austin beat Frank Madden (who didn't show for the round) and again in 2002 when Fred Hagen beat Jay Payne. This is the first time these two have met.
Bogolo is away first and gets a big advantage as Lindberg has problems Before the 330 lights.

Payne is 4 - 1 against Bohl in prior events. Payne won the only other match up in round two. Payne has almost a 67% win/loss advantage in round two.
Payne gets the starting line advantage, but Bohl is out in front by the sixty foot lights and pulls steadily ahead to the finish line.
He will have lane choice over Bogolo in round three.
