Shields gets about 100 feet out, strikes the tires, then aborts the run. Ahten makes his slowest pass of the weekend but gets the win.

Cowie is 1 - 0 against Bateman in prior events.

Bateman goes up in smoke at the hit, pedals once but can't recover. Cowie goes right down the groove with a decent pass to take the win.

Severance is 2 - 0 against St. Arnaud in prior events.
Severance gets out of the gate first and never trails. He increases his lead to the 330 foot mark, then St. Arnaud starts to make up ground but quickly runs out of racetrack.

Joey Severance's incremental margins: 60ft(0.060), 330 ft(0.111), 660ft(0.094), 1,000ft(0.060). MOV: 0.0374 seconds (approximately 15 feet).

This is the first time Sanford and Fricke have faced each other in eliminations.
Fricke gets a big holeshot, stays in front for the first 330 feet, then Sanford goes around and pulls away for the win.

In the next round it will be Sanford with lane choice over Ahten and Cowie vs. Severance.
