Meyer got out of the gate a little bit more quickly than Veale an d extended his advantage on the track. Both drivers took their cars down the groove but Veale started trailing smoke as he neared the finish line.

Shields got out of the gate first. Tedesco closed the gap a bit at 330 feet, then Shields pulled away. Shields will have lane choice over Meyer in the next round.

Demke was first off the starting line and stayed out in front for the entire quarter mile.

Lewis trailed to 660 feet, then pulled by to take the win. He'll meet Demke in the next round and Demke will have lane choice. Mike Lewis' incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.032), 330 ft(-0.049), 660ft(-0.014), 1,000ft(0.030). MOV: 0.0698 seconds (approximately 26 feet).
