MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 30th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 4.365/179.64, Now #14; Best prior run: 10.744/70.94, Was #16
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.904/275.28, Now #12; Best prior run: 8.933/82.47, Was #15

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 29.29 inches, adjusted altitude 2,222 feet, track temperature 86 degrees.

Vandergriff with good early numbers and then started to haze the tires around half track. Millican's car started to lose traction around 800 feet and he clicked it off.

This was a great side-by-side drag race as these two go to the top of the list. Kalitta with a great pass to go to the number one spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.839 sec., 330ft-2.129, 660ft-3.008/287.72 mph. Brittany was right there with him and then right in the lights the engine let go with a big fireball. She goes to the number two spot. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.836 sec., 330ft-2.139, 660ft-3.021/288.15 mph.

Left Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 3.864/291.82, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.904/318.39, Was #13
Right Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.819/316.82, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.806/149.33, Was #16

McMillen with a good clean pass and the candles went out before the finish line. He will not get in the show. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.178, 660ft-3.086/280.78 mph. Todd with a nice clean pass to move up to the number seven spot. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.152, 660ft-3.058/279.79 mph.

Left Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 3.774/323.19, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.824/320.13, Was #10

Massey was on a good looking pass until around 800 feet when it pushed out a head gasket with a quick flash of flames. He still moves up to the number four spot. Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.141, 660ft-3.028/285.83 mph.

Crampton was making a move toward the centerline and out of the groove. He was up in smoke and clicked it off. alBalooshi was up in smoke early and clicked it off.

This was a great looking side-by-side drag race to wrap up day one of qualifying. Schumacher with another great pass, but not as quick as his pass from earlier today. He still has the third quickest pass of the session and will get one bonus point. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.834 sec., 330ft-2.136, 660ft-3.028/285.71 mph. Langdon with a great pass to move into the top half of the show with the fourth quickest pass of the session. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.832 sec., 330ft-2.136, 660ft-3.030/285.41 mph.
