MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 30th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Frank Gugliotta Runs 6.719/202.64, Now #1
Right Lane: Val Smeland Runs 6.889/197.28, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 29.39 inches, adjusted altitude 2,254 feet, track temperature 94 degrees.

Gugliotta with a good pass to start the weekend. Frank Gugliotta's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.812, 660ft-4.316/163.24 mph, 1,000ft-5.617. Smeland slows on the top end.

This was great drag race as they are side-by-side all the way down the track to go to the top of the list. Gray goes to the number one spot.
