MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 30th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:
Left Lane: Ray Bamond Runs 7.739/174.84/-0.481, Now #1 D/AA Index: 8.22
Right Lane: Stu Sandhaus Runs 7.036/184.19/-0.394, Now #2 A/ND Index: 7.43
Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 29.50 inches, adjusted altitude 1,989 feet, track temperature 85 degrees.
Left Lane: Mark Moreland Runs 9.167/146.53/-0.393, Now #3 F/SM Index: 9.56
Right Lane: Calvin Hill Runs 8.382/146.45/-0.338, Now #4 D/EA Index: 8.72
Left Lane: Kevin Houghtaling Runs 8.639/156.72/-0.591, Now #1 H/A Index: 9.23

Sharp with a great pass to go to the number one spot.

Darcy with real nice pass to go to the number three spot and Affronti was right there with him.

Greco launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number two spot.

Ackerman launched hard and was straight down the groove to go to the number two spot.
