MADISON, Ill. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Third annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals:

This is the first time Stevenson and Smith have faced each other in eliminations. Stevenson with the starting line advantage and the lead until right in the lights when Smith is able to chase him down. This was a great race...Rickie Smith's MOV: 0.0063 seconds (approximately 2 feet).

This is the first time Fiscus and Knowles have faced each other in eliminations. Knowles with the starting line advantage and the power to hold on for the hole shot win. Mike Knowles' MOV: 0.0303 seconds (approximately 11 feet). Then as they deploy their chutes Fiscus' car makes a quick move toward Knowles and they get real close to each other, but no contact.

Smith is 4 - 1 against Coughlin in prior events. Coughlin with the starting line advantage, but then got real loose, ut was able to reel it in. He couldn't chase Smith down and Smith gets the win light. Von Smith's MOV: 0.0088 seconds (approximately 3 feet). V.Smith will give up lane choice to R. Smith in the semifinal.
