ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 29th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals:

Severance and McKernan have each won 2 times against the other in prior events.
Severance leaves first, goes right down the groove and runs low ET of the weekend to take the win. McKernan made her best run of the weekend but was falling behind at every marker.

Fricke goes up in smoke at the hit and has to give up on the run. Finke was on a good pass but lost a cylinder about 1000 feet out.

Manners goes up in smoke at the hit and has to back off the throttle. Brounkowski gets about 1200 feet out and looks like he loses a cylinder but still makes his quickest pass of the weekend.

Brounkowski will have lane choice over Severance in the next round.
