ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 29th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: David Barron Runs 20.055/27.45, Now #20; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Redell Harris No Time, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.332/158.15, Was #17

6:17 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 89 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 29.31 inches, adjusted altitude 3,624 feet, track temperature 102 degrees.

Harris left before the tree was activated and received no time. Barron got about 100 feet out and was off the throttle, not sure why.

Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.025/189.34, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.073/184.14, Was #12

Sampey improves and moves up a spot to 11th. Berry doesn't improve and will stay in the 16th spot.

Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.183/186.46, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.108/190.03, Was #14
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.019/189.18, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.065/186.54, Was #12

Camarena slows and stays in the 14th spot. Tonglet improves and moves up to the tenth spot for now.

Pollacheck makes a decent pass but doesn't improve.

Right Lane: Chaz Kennedy Runs 6.992/191.24, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.145/187.39, Was #15

Arana gets to half track and sits up on the bike, not sure why. Kennedy makes a big improvement and moves up to the ninth spot.

Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.983/190.46, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.989/187.83, Was #8

Hall improves, Smith does not, and they swap places in the order.

Krawiec makes another good run, improves, but not enough to take the top spot away from Arana Jr.

Johnson goes right down the groove with a good pass but doesn't improve enough to move up in the order. Ray improves and gets in the 16th spot for now.

Arana Jr. doesn't improve from his earlier attempt but maintains the number one position. Gann improves a little but not enough to move up in the order.

Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.961/191.00, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.979/189.20, Was #6

Hines improves and moves up to the fourth spot. Savoie slows and stays in the 12th spot.

Smith makes a full pass on this one and moves up to the tenth spot. Arana slows and drops a spot as Smith goes around him.
