CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Seventh annual Pep Boys NHRA Carolina Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Dan Lucas Runs 7.424/125.81, Now #15; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 80 percent, barometer 29.39 inches, adjusted altitude 2,671 feet, track temperature 96 degrees.

Lucas made a quick move toward the centerline and pedaled it and the car made another move toward the centerline and he pedaled it one more time, but he finally got it to the finish line and got a time on the board.

Right Lane: Mike Burns Runs 5.577/256.65, Now #10; No Prior Run

Dietrich clicked it off early, but still improves... Dan Dietrich's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.517, 660ft-3.732/202.85 mph, 1,000ft-4.780. Tedesco with a lot of tire shake and clicks it off. McPhillips launched hard and keep it hooked up to get into the top half of the show. Rich McPhillips' incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.485, 660ft-3.606/224.43 mph, 1,000ft-4.550.
