ENNIS, Texas -- A new Pro Comp class will makes its debut at the NHRA Lucas Oil Divisional event at Texas Motorplex on Friday, May 2, all thanks to Elite Motorsports.

While one of the largest segments of racers in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series is the Super Category participants, there hasn't been one category where they can all race each other - until now.

Pro Comp has been set up to allow Super Class racers to compete against each other without having to make any changes to the race car setups. CompuLink provided the South Central Division with its own Pro Comp Computer program to accomplish several tasks. This will enable Cross Talk will be turned on so both sides of the tree fire at the same time, but the timing setup will allow racers to run the ..400 or .500 Pro Tree that they are most comfortable with in their current classes.

Elite Motorsports is the event class sponsor and while entry into the specialty race for LODRS participants is free, there will be a $500 check to the winner, $250 for the runner-up and $125 for each semifinalist.

Elite Motorsports didn't stop there. The specialty race is Friday night, but the fun continues Saturday with the Elite Motorsports Racer Appreciation concert with The Pontiax and The Midtown Playboys Band. All LODRS racers and fans will be allowed free entry into the concert area and each LODRS racer will receive drink coupons upon entry into Texas Motorplex and tech card purchase.
