The tradition-rich facility, which is under new management in 2014, has a reputation among NHRA race teams and fans for its record-setting potential and for showcasing very close race finishes. The event will feature thrilling competition in three of NHRA's professional categories, including the 8,000-horsepower, nitro-fueled Top Fuel dragster and Funny Car classes, along with the 200-mph Pro Stock category. Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel), Ron Capps (Funny Car) and Erica Enders-Stevens (Pro Stock) are the defending winners of the event, which will be televised on ESPN2 HD. Many other stars of the sport, including 16-time Funny Car world champion John Force, Top Fuel world champ Shawn Langdon, Antron Brown, Courtney Force, Matt Hagan, Pro Stock world champion Jeg Coughlin and two-time Funny Car champ Cruz Pedregon, among others, are expected to compete in the event.
